Choosing Bathroom Countertops: 5 Factors to Consider

Choosing Bathroom Countertops: 5 Factors to Consider

Bathroom countertops can turn a bathroom into an oasis!

Bathroom countertops, like kitchen countertops, can make or break the way that a room looks. We have so many choices available, so we understand that picking the perfect bathroom countertop takes time. Your bathroom should be your oasis. You should undeniably love how it looks, and more importantly, love how you feel in it. Here are five factors that homeowners should keep in mind when choosing bathroom countertops.

Durability

You want a bathroom countertop material that’s durable. Bathrooms are susceptible to a look of moisture, bacteria, and a multitude of cleaning products, not to mention things such as toothpaste and cleanser stains. Granite is an ideal material for a bathroom because it ranks high in durability, but you don’t have to compromise style whatsoever.

Design/Color

A trendy color choice for bathroom countertops is neutrals. Neutrals help a bathroom feel more crisp and fresh, and as you change your bathroom around, a neutral-colored countertop will blend in with the paint, pictures, shower curtains, rugs, mirror, or whatever decor you have in your bathroom. If you want a soothing bathroom, go for whites, grays, blues, beige, and light blue.

Countertop Finishes

We offer honed, polished, and leathered finishes. A polished finish is indeed the most anti-stain and non-porous option. If you’re redoing a smaller bathroom, you may find it ideal to have smooth, rounded edges to avoid bumping into your countertop’s edges.

Veining

The differences in veining will make two countertops consisting of the same material look entirely different! You may want to pick veining that isn’t as bold for a subtler feel for a smaller surface area. For a larger surface, bold veining can play up the drama in your bathroom. If a dramatic, bold, and elegant bathroom is what you’re going for, marble is a perfect choice.

Cleaning and Maintenance

If you have a busy home, primarily where children dwell, granite will be the ideal natural stone for you. It resists etches and stains. If you have a home that doesn’t have a lot of foot traffic and you’re all about luxuriousness, marble will suit you. Regardless of the material you choose, be sure to seal your bathroom countertops every year.
