Designing Kitchen Counter-Top Edges

Never take the design of your kitchen lightly. Rock Tops Fabrication offers three edge varieties along with customizable options.

When designing a kitchen countertop, material, pattern, color, and finish matters but what about those edges? Edges can be overlooked and picked impulsively. Your choice can enhance the look and feel of your kitchen. Never take the design of your kitchen lightly. Rock Tops Fabrication offers three edge varieties along with customizable options. Keep reading below to understand what edges Rock Tops Fabrication provides.

Eased or Beveled Edges

Eased or beveled edges create a soft look. Typically, the corners of these edges are angled at 45 degrees and slightly rounded. If this is your choice, you won’t have to worry about your countertop chipping. Go for this look if you desire a modern, simplistic kitchen. The corners of the edges can be as round as you want. You do not need to go for a 45-degree angle. Your edges can be as smooth and clean as you want them.

Bullnose and Half Bullnose Edges

Bullnose edges are sleek and thin. They work for contemporary designs as well as modern. Bullnose edges are more rounded than square. Cleaning maintenance will be easy. Nor do you have to worry about people hurting themselves when walking around your countertop. Half Bullnose Edges are thicker than full-sized bullnose edges and have the same benefits.

Ornate Edge Styles: Ogee, Cove Dupont, and Triple Pencil

Ogee edges are perfect for a sophisticated, classic kitchen. Ogee edges curve inward like the interior of a circle. Italian decor is where Ogee edges derive from making them very fancy. Here is the story or joke behind Ogee edges. When people see how elegant they are, they say: “Oh, gee!”.

Cove Dupont edges have 190-degree angles. The outlines curve like the exterior of a circle. Compared to the Ogee, Cove Dupont edges invert. If a classic look is what you want to achieve, this works as well.

The Triple Pencil derives from Italy just like Ogee edges. Three rounded layers stack on top of each other. Each layer’s radius is between 3-6 mm.

All three edge varieties work well for kitchen islands. An island in a kitchen is ideal because it gives an open aesthetic. Islands aid in making kitchens appear large. These edges overcrowd smaller, cramped spaces. You can choose marble and quartz for fancier designs.

Kitchens bring families together. Bonding along with cooking rich meals happen in the kitchen. An island is also a focal hub for gatherings. The style of each homeowner varies. We are confident that we can design something you’ll love.
