Three Ways to Integrate Natural Stone in Your Bathroom

Discover several ways to incorporate natural stone into your home.

Are you ready to upgrade the bathroom design in your home? You realize that it’s time to make some changes and add beauty and value to your home. According to HGTV, remodeling the bathroom is the number one project that homeowners can do to increase the value of their home. A bathroom remodeling project can result in a 93% to 102% return on your investment, depending on the extent of the upgrade.

Once you decide to proceed, you will have many choices to make. One of the most interesting and trendy choices in bathroom design is incorporating natural stone. It gives you a clean, natural look and it also looks polished and sophisticated. Check out these ideas and see which one works best for you:

Floors

Natural stone floors offer a stately, distinguished look. Limestone and travertine are two lovely choices for bathroom floors. They offer a wide variety of color options to complement your design. Or, you could choose marble for a classic look. All of these stones convey serenity and cleanliness that are perfect for the bathroom.

Countertops

If you choose marble, you’ll love the glossy, clean look but be sure to have the surface sealed properly. Other durable choices are quartzite or granite. Both are natural stone, and they come in many different colors and patterns to coordinate with your existing interior design.

Bath Tiles

Step it up a notch and incorporate natural stone as a design element in the shower or around the bathtub. You might select stone for a border or an inset in the shower surround. Both options will make a statement. For maximum impact and dramatic effect, use natural stone to cover an entire wall in the bathroom. Marble works well in this situation. It is smooth and shiny, reflecting light, and soap residue will not stick to it. It will definitely get noticed.
